Microneedling

Leamington Spa

Dr Alison, an International educator in aesthetics,  specialises in natural and subtle results with all aesthetic treatments. With over 8 years experience as an aesthetics doctor and 10 years as a GP, she will create a tailored treatment plan to make you feel the BEST version of you!

Microneedling:

If your skin has started to look a little dull, uneven or tired, microneedling offers a sophisticated yet gentle solution to smooth, strengthen and awaken the skin from within. It’s a treatment that stimulates your skin’s own healing mechanisms, promoting collagen production without heat, chemicals or downtime.

Microneedling - also known as Collagen Induction Therapy - uses a device with ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries across the skin’s surface. This triggers a cascade of natural repair, encouraging your skin to renew, tighten and regenerate with a fresher, more luminous finish.

We offer a range of advanced medical aesthetic treatments at The Avery Clinic in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire as well as microneedling including anti-wrinkle injections ('botox'), dermal fillerpolynucleotides, Profhilo, chemical skin peels, Structura, IPL laser Lumecca, and Morpheus 8 RF microneedling.

More about microneedling treatments...

What does microneedling help with?

Microneedling is suitable for almost everyone and can be adapted for sensitive skin. Here are some of the benefits of microneedling:

  • Uneven skin texture and tone

  • Enlarged pores

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles

  • Sun damage or dullness

  • Acne scarring or post-inflammatory marks

  • Crepiness around the eyes and mouth

  • Mild skin laxity and loss of firmness

What happens in microneedling appointment?

  • Your treatment begins with a facial cleanse, mild exfoliation and a gentle sterilisation for a clean surface.

  • A treatment targeting serum is then applied and acts as a 'glide agent' allowing for the microneedling pen to smoothly glide over the very surface of the skin

  • The depth of the micro-needles is adjusted depending on the area of the face/neck that is being treated

  • After treatment, skin may appear a little pink—similar to a light sunburn—for 24–48 hours. Most patients describe a feeling of tightness and warmth, followed by a visible improvement in tone and clarity over the next week.

How many sessions of microneedling do I need?

  1. Usually delivered as a course of 3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart

  2. Maintenance sessions can be done every 4-6 months to keep the collagen boosted

  3. Can be combined with Profhilo, polynucleotides and chemical peels for enhanced results

  4. Suitable for face, neck, chest and hands

What are the optional add on - exosomes?

Exosomes are powerful cellular messengers derived from stem cells which allow your skin cells to work to their absolute best. They come as a serum, and when microneedled into the skin, they supercharge skin repair, boost collagen, and accelerate healing. Think of them as a biological upgrade - enhancing results, reducing downtime, and leaving skin visibly smoother, firmer, and more radiant.

From Dr Alison

“Microneedling isn’t flashy or faddy - it’s rooted in skin physiology and it works. It’s one of my favourite treatments for patients who want stronger, more luminous skin, but don’t want to add anything to their face. It simply encourages your skin to behave younger.”
