Polynucleotides

Leamington Spa

Dr Alison, an International educator in aesthetics,  specialises in natural and subtle results with all aesthetic treatments. With over 8 years experience as an aesthetics doctor and 10 years as a GP, she will create a tailored treatment plan to make you feel the BEST version of you!

Polynucleotides:

If your skin feels tired, fragile or prematurely aged, particularly around the eyes then polynucleotides may offer exactly what you’ve been searching for.

Also playfully known as the ‘Salmon Sperm Facial’, this treatment is far more sophisticated than it sounds. Polynucleotides are a new generation of injectable skin boosters that don’t fill or freeze, instead they stimulate your body’s own regenerative processes to visibly improve skin quality, resilience and glow.

We offer a range of advanced medical aesthetic treatments at The Avery Clinic in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire as well as anti-wrinkle injections ('botox') including dermal filler, microneedling, polynucleotides, Profhilo, chemical skin peels, IPL laser Lumecca, and Morpheus 8 RF microneedling.

More about polynucleotides treatments...

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are ultra-purified molecules derived from salmon trout DNA. These DNA fragments act like a cellular whisper, signalling your skin to repair, regenerate and replenish itself from within.

The result is stronger, firmer, more radiant skin with improved elasticity, hydration and tone. This treatment is especially loved for treating delicate areas like the under-eyes, where other injectables may be too heavy or risky. Dr Alison specifically recommends polynucleotides to target pigmented dark circles.

Reasons to have polynucleotides

  • Dark circles and fine lines under the eyes

  • Crepey skin around the eyes

  • Dehydrated, thinning or sun-damaged skin

  • Post-acne scarring or redness

  • Patches of rosacea/inflammation

  • Skin that feels dull, fragile or prematurely aged

Why is it called the 'salmon sperm facial'?

It’s a bit of a viral nickname, but it’s not as odd as it sounds. The active ingredients in polynucleotide treatments are sourced from fish gonads but purified to clinical-grade safety, and used because of their biocompatibility and powerful regenerative properties.

Rest assured, it’s entirely sterile, medical-grade, and nothing like what the name suggests. But the nickname has stuck as lots of celebrities have endorsed this as one of the most exciting treatments in regenerative aesthetics right now.

What to expect with a polynucleotides treatment:

  • Typically a course of three treatments, spaced 2–3 weeks apart

  • Minimal downtime, most patients return to normal activity immediately

  • Suitable for sensitive, delicate or mature skin types

  • Mildly uncomfortable, various Dr Alison offers this treatment with either a cannula or micro-needle

  • Maintenance every 4-6 months helps maintain results
