Sculptra Body: My new go-to treatment for cellulite, crepey arms and chests

We put so much focus on our faces when it comes to ageing, but ageing isn’t exclusive to the face.

For most women, it shows up on the body in a really specific way. Skin starts to look crepey in places it never used to. The neck and chest start to develop deeper lines. The upper arms don’t feel as firm. The backs of the thighs and the buttocks start to show more cellulite, even if your weight hasn’t changed and you’re doing all the right things.

And for years, the options have been limited. Either you accept it, cover it up, or go down the surgical route. So I’m genuinely excited to say we finally have a non-surgical option that actually gives results.

It’s called Sculptra Body, and I’m delighted to be offering it at The Avery Clinic in Leamington Spa.

Why I’m so excited about Sculptra Body

I was delighted to be invited as a VIP to the official UK launch, and it confirmed what I’d already suspected: this is going to become one of the most asked-for body treatments.

Sculptra has already been one of my favourite treatments for the face and neck for years because it works with your biology, improving the quality of the skin itself by stimulating your own collagen.

Now we can take that same collagen-building approach and use it on the body in areas where we see crepey skin, skin laxity, and cellulite.

What Sculptra Body actually is

Sculptra is an injectable collagen stimulator. The ingredient is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which prompts your skin to produce more of its own collagen over time.

This is not a “quick fix” that gives an instant result – it’s a gradual rebuild.

One of the key stats that matters here is this: collagen has been shown to increase by around 66% at three months after treatment. That’s why results improve as the weeks go on.

The areas I can treat

We are now licensed to treat:

Inner arms (bingo wings and that crepey skin near the armpit)

Sculptra Body can help improve:

  • Crepey texture at the top of the arm near the armpit

  • Skin laxity and that softer “bingo wing” look

  • Overall skin thickness and firmness over time

Neck (horizontal neck lines and crepey neck skin)

The neck is often where women notice ageing before they expect to.

Sculptra Body can help improve:

  • Horizontal necklines that are starting to etch in

  • Crepey, thinning neck skin

  • Overall firmness and the “scrunched” look that can develop with time

Chest (cleavage lines and crepey chest skin)

This is exactly the area that gets forgotten until summer comes around, but it catches a lot of sunlight during our life, as it’s so often on show and rarely protected. And the effects of this tend to show as we get older.

Sculptra Body can help improve:

  • Crepey chest skin and poor skin quality

  • Cleavage lines that sit more obviously

  • General texture and resilience, so the skin looks stronger

Back of thighs (skin tightening and cellulite)

This is where Sculptra Body gets really exciting, because the back of the thighs is one of the hardest areas to treat well.

Sculptra Body can help:

  • Improve skin texture and firmness

  • Smooth the look of cellulite over time

  • Help the skin sit more evenly in motion (which is when cellulite tends to show most)

Buttocks (cellulite, lift, and shape)

We can do more than just improve skin quality here.

Depending on what you need, Sculptra Body can help:

  • Smooth cellulite

  • Improve firmness and give a subtle lift

  • Add volume in specific areas when appropriate, including improving the look of hip dips

Cellulite is not a “fat problem”

Most people think cellulite is caused by fat, but it isn’t. At least, not in the way you’ve been told.

Here’s the easiest way to picture it.

Imagine you’ve got bobbly fat underneath the skin. Over the top of that fat is a mesh-like covering, and then over that sits your skin.

When we’re younger:

  • The mesh is tighter and more supportive

  • The skin is thicker and firmer

  • So you don’t see the unevenness underneath

As we age, and collagen declines:

  • The mesh becomes weaker and develops bigger gaps

  • Some of the fat pushes up through those gaps

  • The skin over the top becomes thinner

  • So, you see the dimpling and uneven texture

That’s why cellulite can happen in slim women, and why it’s so genetic and hormone-driven.

It’s also why liposuction doesn’t always solve cellulite, because removing fat doesn’t fix the mesh or the quality of the skin sitting on top of it.

This is exactly where Sculptra Body comes in.

By stimulating collagen, it helps strengthen the skin and improve tissue support over time. So instead of chasing fat, we’re improving the structures that actually create the dimpling.

What the evidence shows

Sculptra Body is evidence-based, and the patient satisfaction data is strong.

In one set of thigh outcomes:

  • 100% of patients reported visible improvement at one year

  • 97% said they were satisfied with the appearance of their thighs

  • 83% said they would choose the treatment again

That’s one of the reasons I’m so confident offering this. Cellulite treatments are notorious for overpromising, and this is one of the few options that has both a believable mechanism and high satisfaction.

What the treatment course looks like

In most cases, Sculptra Body is done as:

  • A course of three treatments

  • Around six weeks apart

Results build gradually, and they’re long-lasting:

  • Results can last two to four years

  • I usually recommend a single maintenance treatment at around one year to keep things on track

What to expect after treatment

This isn’t a “hide away for two weeks” treatment, but you should expect:

  • Some tenderness, swelling, and possibly bruising, depending on the area

  • Clear aftercare guidance (including massage instructions) to help the product distribute evenly

  • Gradual improvement over weeks and months rather than an instant change

Is Sculptra Body right for you?

If you’re noticing cellulite, crepey texture, or skin laxity in the arms, neck, chest, thighs or buttocks, and you want a non-surgical option that genuinely improves skin quality, this is worth considering.

The most important thing is that it’s done properly, with a realistic plan, and with honest guidance about what you can expect.

If you’d like to explore Sculptra Body, book a consultation at The Avery Clinic in Leamington Spa and I’ll assess the area with you, talk through goals and timelines, and map out a plan that actually makes sense for you.
